Using Hypnosis/Hypnotherapy with Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)

Hypnosis is a highly relaxed, and highly focused mental state that bypasses many of the negative mental responses we have built up over the years.  All hypnosis is in effect self-hypnosis.  The Hypnotherapist is a guide or facilitator that helps you get into that wonderful heightened state of awareness, so you can accept positive suggestions into your subconscious.

It is generally a very pleasant and relaxing experience.  You will never be made to say, or do, anything against your will, or without your consent.  It is done in a safe, relaxing environment.  You are always in control.

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) greatly enhances the success and receptivity to the hypnotic treatment by using a form of emotional acupressure.  Meridian/acupressure points on the body are gently tapped with the fingertips while addressing the problem with a cognitive statement.  EFT can be used before, during, or after to clear the way for a successful treatment and help install the positive cognitions.

For centuries the effectiveness of hypnotherapy has been well known, but the mechanism of hypnosis has not been well understood.  Recent advances and in Neuro-Science, along with studies based new technologies, including PET scans and MRI’s show us that with the applied use of focused attention alone, the human mind and literally rewire itself.  It is not just a matter of “mind over matter,” it is the mind altering its own very structure.  These remarkable studies have proven, beyond doubt, that the human mind can use highly focused will to reverse deeply ingrained behaviors, install new modes of reactions to the level of instinct, and create thousands of new neuro pathways dedicated to the learning of a new skill or positive emotional, physical, or mental state of being.  Hypnosis and EFT complement each other so well because they are both an applied uses of focused attention.   EFT greatly aids the effectiveness of hypnosis through the clearing and shifting of subtle energies and self-sabotage.

The level of concentration required to effect significant change can be difficult to do in our normal states of awareness.  This is even more so when the behaviors we wish to affect include procrastination, lack of focus, addictions, excess weight, and depressive thoughts.  Frequently we are diagnosed by ourselves or others as “simply lacking motivation.”

In the state of hypnosis, the therapist can guide through procedures that will allow you to change the behaviors you wish to avoid so they are no longer a problem for you.  Behaviors you wish to internalize become easy, and skills you wish to have are more easily learned.  And the best part is that you don’t even need motivation to get there!
